Unestech 2.5-inch SATA Internal HDD Mobile rack Enclosure-ST2513 product review
Today we test the Unestech ST2513, which is a 2.5-inch SATA/SAS internal hot-swappable HDD Enclosure. Because it is tool-free, it is very simple to use. Next, we will show you the excellence of this "star" product!
2.5" SATA/SAS internal HDD Enclosure
The Unestech ST2513 is a very robust design product, carefully built in metal and stainless steel, with a small and delicate size, 133 mm long, 26 mm high, 102 mm wide, and a weight of only 215 grams, making it more portable.
The Unestech ST2513 HDD Enclosure allows quick removal and installation without tools. Inserting the hard drive tray is a one-click process that first places it in the extraction tray and then pushes it. With the SSD in place, all that remains is to install the case into the case. We also notice that there is a small LED (on the right). A steady blue dot indicates that the hard disk is powered on. A blinking dot indicates that the hard disk is reading or writing data or is faulty.
Power is provided by a single SATA 15Pin port, and connection to the PC is provided by two SATA 7Pin with transfer rates up to 6Gbps, both of which are located at the back of the HDD Enclosure. Plug and play is available, but RAID is not supported.
Key points to focus on:
The Unestech ST2513 HDD Enclosure is the ideal choice for you who need to change SSDS/HDDS frequently every day, and it will bring great convenience to your work. This HDD Enclosure is also ideal for data transfer and backup.
Data? We have the data!
Let's install two SSDS and start processing the data. We will go from PC to HDD Enclosure, from HDD Enclosure to PC, from HDD Enclosure to HDD Enclosure, and vice versa. As with the NAS test, small and large files will be used for practice. The following are the specific test results of st2513:
Test setup:
Drive: Select [E:] Add volume.
I/O Size: Ranges from 512 bytes to 64MB in 256MB increments.
Write Cache: This parameter is not selected, which means that write cache is disabled during testing.
Verify Data: Unchecked, meaning that data will not be verified during testing.
Queue Depth: Set this parameter to 4.
Test results:
Write speed: From 512 bytes to 64MB I/O size, write speed changes from 14.12 MB/s to 333.49 MB/s.
Read speed (Read) : From 512 bytes to 64MB I/O size, read speed changes from 14.14 MB/s to 328.90 MB/s.
Test results:
Write speed: From 512 bytes to 64MB I/O size, write speed changed from 14.12 MB/s to 333.49 MB/s;
Read speed (Read) : From 512 bytes to 64MB I/O size, read speed changes from 14.14 MB/s to 328.90 MB/s;
Read/write speed: Read speed (Read) in Seq Q32T32 mode is 920.4 MB/s;
The Write speed in Seq Q32T32 mode is 970.8MB /s.
There are several other test results that combine I/O size and queue depth:
In 4K Q4T32 mode, the read speed is 169.8MB /s and the write speed is 176.2MB /s.
In Seq mode, the read speed is 672.6 MB/s, and the write speed is 760.4 MB/s.
