M.2 Interface and U.2 Interface
M.2 Interface and U.2 Interface

The M.2 interface, is a specification for internally mounted computer expansion cards and associated connectors. It's compact and high-performance, and it plugs directly into the M.2 slot on the motherboard.M.2 hard drives come in a variety of lengths, the common ones are 2242, 2260, 2280, etc
The U.2 interface (also known as the SFF-8639 interface) is a new higher performance standard interface primarily used for SSDs. It offers higher speeds and better compatibility than the traditional SATA interface. The design allows them to be easily used in servers and storage systems that have been designed with bays and connections for 2.5-inch hard drives.

Both M.2 and U.2 drives are PCIe compliant, which is often used to connect hardware devices to computers. Both drive interfaces support a maximum transfer speed of 64Gb/s.
